Nurture Provision
We are fortunate enough in school to have two ‘Nurture Provisions’ – ‘Team 12’ and ‘The Pea Pod’. These spaces have been designed with nurture at the heart of them. They are calm accessible spaces, where children focus on nurture-based provision i.e. circle time, turn-taking, speaking and listening activities, regulation etc..
1. The Pea Pod – This space is accessible for Nursery and Reception children. Directed nurture provision is timetabled over the course of the week, and is delivered to a small group of children at one given time. he space is then available for the rest of the week, when required, to support with the regulation of children.
2. The Intervention Base – This space is accessible for Year 1 > Year 6. Directed nurture provision is timetabled four times per week for a group of Year 3/4 children, and three times per week for a group of Year 1/2 children. Additionally, throughout the course of the day, several
children access the provision to support with their interventions, regulation and transition from activity-to- activity.
