Building Mathematical Confidence and Success
At The Ribbon Academy, we are committed to helping every child become a confident and successful mathematician. To support this, pupils from Year 2 to Year 6 have access to Magma Maths, an innovative online platform that helps teachers identify gaps in understanding whilst providing personalised opportunities for practice and improvement.
Magma Maths is closely linked to classroom learning and enables pupils to strengthen their mathematical knowledge both in school and at home.
Teacher-Assigned Learning
Class teachers can set specific activities that reinforce recent learning from maths lessons. These carefully selected tasks allow children to revisit key concepts, practise new skills and consolidate their understanding of topics being taught in class.
By completing assigned activities, pupils can build confidence, improve accuracy and develop a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts.
Personalised Practice Powered by Assessment
One of the most powerful features of Magma Maths is its intelligent assessment system. As children complete activities, the platform continually assesses their understanding and identifies areas where additional practice may be beneficial.
Magma Maths then generates personalised questions tailored to each child’s individual needs. This means children can focus on the areas that will have the greatest impact on their mathematical development, helping them make consistent progress over time.

Regular use of Magma Maths at home helps children to:
