Remote Learning Provision

At Ribbon Academy, we are committed to ensuring that children can continue learning when they are unable to attend school. Our remote learning provision is designed to maintain curriculum continuity, support wellbeing and ensure all pupils can access high-quality learning opportunities from home where required.

Our Remote Learning Approach

Remote learning may be used where a child is unable to attend school for an extended period due to medical needs, during emergency situations, or where the school determines that remote education is necessary to support continuity of learning.

We aim to:

  • Maintain access to a broad and balanced curriculum.
  • Provide engaging learning opportunities linked to classroom learning.
  • Support pupil wellbeing and engagement.
  • Ensure safeguarding remains a priority.
  • Reduce barriers to learning for disadvantaged pupils and those with SEND.
  • Work closely with parents and carers to support learning at home.

Learning Platforms

Our main remote learning platforms are:

Early Years

  • Class Dojo

Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2

  • Class Dojo

These platforms are used to share learning activities, communicate with families, provide feedback and maintain effective home-school communication. Where online access is not possible, alternative paper-based learning packs may be provided.

Supporting All Learners

We will also make reasonable adjustments for pupils with SEND and maintain regular communication with families to ensure children remain supported throughout any period of remote learning.

Safeguarding and Online Safety

Safeguarding remains at the heart of our remote learning provision. Staff and pupils use approved school platforms and follow the school’s safeguarding, online safety and acceptable use procedures at all times. Any concerns identified during remote learning are managed in line with the school’s Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy.
